Specializations for BDS Course ​

After completing a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS), graduates have several options for specialization in dentistry.

1. Orthodontics
Focuses on diagnosing, preventing, and correcting misaligned teeth and jaws using braces and other appliances.

2. Periodontology
Specializes in the study and treatment of gum diseases and conditions affecting the structures supporting teeth.

3. Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
Involves surgical procedures related to the mouth, jaw, and face, including trauma, tumors, and reconstructive surgery.

4. Prosthodontics
Concerned with designing and fitting artificial replacements for teeth (such as dentures, crowns, and bridges).

5. Endodontics
Focuses on the treatment of dental pulp and tissues surrounding the roots of a tooth, often involving root canal therapy.

6. Pediatric Dentistry
Specializes in the oral health of children, encompassing preventive and therapeutic care for infants and adolescents
